Join Clint, Mark and Club 4×4 for a crossing of the Simpson Desert along the famous Madigan Line. This is without doubt an amazing trip through a very remote part of Australia visiting some iconic sites travelling along a historic track. The trip will start in Mt Dare with a 5-8 day trek via the Pastoral Rd up to Old Andado Homestead (Old Andado Homestead) for a look around at a piece of history in the desert, and onto the beginning the gruelling trek along the Madigan Line. After leaving Madigan camp 15, we will try and continue on the Madigan all the way to the QAA line and on to have some fun at big red. We will camp here for the final night, but if there are closures the trip will head south on the Hay River Track and then join up onto the French Line at Poeppel Corner. We will back track to the QAA Line and have some fun on Big Red, where we will camp for our final night in the desert, before ending the trip in Birdsville. The trip distance is approximately 850km from Mt Dare to Birdsville. Join Club 4×4 and Erin for another round of the Club Camp Cookout.  Dust off the utensils and pans, dig out the old recipes and come along and share the numerous dishes provided by the talented Chef’s among us. The idea is to provide a dish to share which has been cooked onsite in any way you choose. That may be on your gas burner, a frying pan over the fire or the good old camp oven, it’s up to you. We will be camping at the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve ($7/night) for a camp cooking session in the reserved area that we were to use for the 2023 Xmas Party. Join Mathew, Linda and Club 4×4 for an awesome weekend on the Murray. This weekend won’t be about driving but rather about rest, relaxation and socialising, and the fishing is great. Bring the whole family, including dogs. We will bring ours. Swags, tents or off-road caravans and boat suitable. We will camp in one of our favorite spots, 20 min from Yarrawonga and shops. The Annual Camp is a family oriented weekend away with an aim to provide Current and Prospective Members with an opportunity to meet and socialise with other members that you might not otherwise see on 4WD Trips or at the Monthly Club Meetings. Based on numbers from last year we have reserved 20 grassed, unpowered sites for both Friday and Saturday night in the riverfront “Unpowered Camping” area shown on the attached map. Saturday night’s accommodation in this area will be paid for by the club on a first come, first served basis. If you’d prefer to stay in a powered site, you can do so at your own expense. Unfortunately all Cabins have been booked out by the SES who are running training during Feb and March. This year the Club will be funding the Saturday night with Members who wish to stay the Friday night needing to cover the cost for that night. Fees are $36/night (2 Adults) + $15/child/night Please fill out a Trip Booking form on the website. Once submitted Geoff (Events Manager) will be in contact with you to complete your booking with the Park. The Club will cater dinner which will be provided on Saturday night in the adjacent undercover camp kitchen. Make sure to specify any special dietary requirements on your booking form. The last two years we have allowed dogs at the camp and we will continue with this policy this year. Please exercise common sense and do not bring your dog if it does not socialise well with young children or other dogs.
